Le Space Belege
Collect receipts, match payments, hand over a DATEV package — pre-accounting for your small business, entirely without the cloud: everything happens on your own computer, and the books stay encrypted on your device.
No cloud
- The books live only on your device, encrypted with a key your passkey creates anew each time you unlock. There is no account, no password, and no copy with us — we run no server.
Hosted on IPFS — the proof, and how to verify it
Only the app itself is served from IPFS — your receipts and data never live there; they stay local with you. There is no server of ours behind the PWA, and that is checkable: the latest release run publishes the IPFS hash (CID) in its summary, and the same app over the public inbrowser.link gateway is the same, byte for byte — there your browser verifies the delivery against the hash itself.
If that matters to you: with your own IPFS node (Kubo) or the IPFS Companion extension, your browser fetches the app straight from the network — then not even the visit to belege.le-space.de can be logged anywhere. Entirely optional.
How the pieces connect: the release run publishes the build's hash, the CID. Linking the domain writes exactly this CID into the DNSLink record of belege.le-space.de — and the IPNS address at inbrowser.link reads nothing but that record. You can check it right now:
dig TXT _dnslink.belege.le-space.dehas to show the CID from the release; with Kubo, ipfs resolve /ipns/belege.le-space.dedoes the same. Andhttps://<CID>.ipfs.inbrowser.link/orhttps://ipfs.aleph.sh/ipfs/<CID>/serve that very build with no domain in between. - Account transactions come straight from your bank: German banks over FinTS/HBCI, with Hibiscus on the Jameica platform — no middlemen in between. For European banks under PSD2, Enable Banking is implemented but not yet field-tested. A small bridge on your own computer makes this possible; it also talks to the accounting mailbox, customer portals, exchanges and wallets, and nothing of it leaves your machine.
Crypto transactions
Every crypto movement becomes a booking in euros at the day’s rate, with its source named — ECB, Kraken, CoinGecko, Uniswap pools, the trade itself, or by hand. Swaps and migrations are followed across chains, and everything exports in an open, MIT-licensed ledger format.
Supported today
- Blockchains
- Bitcoin, Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum One, OP Mainnet, Polygon, Monero, Filecoin (USDFC), Akash, Nym (Nyx)
- Exchanges
- Kraken (read-only)
- E-invoices
- XRechnung (UBL and CII) and ZUGFeRD/Factur-X under EN 16931 — read and kept as the original; issuing them follows in the invoicing app
- Decentralised archives
- Aleph Cloud — optional and encrypted, sealed with a key from your passkey: only you can open the archive, and a new device gets everything back. Via the OrbitDB Storage Bridge (in progress: Filecoin, On-Chain Cloud, Lighthouse)
More on request — gladly.
AI, only on a click
- Your model, not ours: Le Space runs no AI and sees none of your data. The bridge asks the language model you configure.
- Our recommendation: a local model (Ollama, LM Studio) — or a TEE-hosted LLM whose attestation can be verified.
- Every button that asks the model carries the ✦ mark, the text goes out redacted, and usage and cost stay in view.
Who it is for
Small businesses and the self-employed — especially when crypto is involved: income in coins as well as spending in utility tokens, say for Filecoin, Akash or Aleph services. The monthly DATEV package goes to your bookkeeping software or your tax advisor; the actual posting happens there.
Get going in two minutes
- Open belege.le-space.de and create a passkey — that is the whole set-up.
- Even without the bridge: load the built-in sample data and try everything — one click removes it again — or upload a bank statement (CAMT.053) right away and start matching.
- For bank, mailbox, portals and AI, the bridge comes onto your computer — and we set it up with you.
Open source, on purpose
- Built in a few weeks — with substantial AI assistance. What can come into being this fast, we have no need to fence in: a fence protects nothing there any more. The value is not in the code but in the trust that it does what it promises — and that can only be checked when it lies open.
- That is why Belege is open source, under the AGPL-3.0: anyone can use the app for free, inspect it, develop it further independently — and those developments benefit everyone.
- And if building is not your thing: we gladly take on adaptations, customisation and automation — as a service.
More features
- Several devices, and collaboration: the receipts replicate peer-to-peer between phones and computers, over libp2p and OrbitDB, optionally — in the same room by QR code, on your own network through the bridge, or elsewhere over relays. A new device only joins after proving the passkey, and coworkers get a time-limited read grant
- Installable as a PWA — the shell works offline
- E-invoices: XRechnung (UBL and CII) and ZUGFeRD/Factur-X — uploaded or from the mailbox, read at once without AI: seller, number, dates, VAT per rate, lines, total; credit notes and reverse charge recognised. The XML stays the original and travels as such into the DATEV export, backups and a book move
- Issuing e-invoices — currently in development in the invoicing app
- VAT on the home page: input VAT from the receipts and output VAT from your own invoices per month, quarter and year, the payable or refund — including intra-EU supplies with the lines for the EC Sales List, third country, §13b and the small-business limits. A help for the advance return, not the return itself
- Travel expenses: trips with their receipts and the statutory per-diems by hours and country, one statement per month as a PDF on SKR 03 travel accounts, the payout linked to it
- Matching by a score from amount, invoice and customer number, IBAN, vendor and date — transfers, fees, refunds and your own rules need no receipt
- Eigenbelege — for crypto with hash, both addresses and gas
- Customer portals as a receipt source, recorded once
- Vendor accounts for credit and collective statements
- Private payments from the business account: marked and settled
- DKIM, SPF and scam checks on receipt mail
- Move the books to another passkey — by a one-time key as a QR code, or by a passphrase
- One fiscal year at a time, with a year switch
- SKR 03 and BU keys; your own chart of accounts can be read in
- German and English, switched at once
- Paperless-ngx as a receipt source (planned)
Set-up and adaptations
We set Belege up with you — bridge, bank access, accounting mailbox, customer portals, your own language model — and we build adaptations: further blockchains and exchanges, special cases, and automation of business processes, like invoicing straight into the books over UCEP. This is a paid service; write to us.
Belege is tailored to the German market today — SKR 03, VAT, DATEV. The pattern carries further, though: receipts, payments and a monthly package for the bookkeeping exist everywhere. For adapting Belege to other countries and tax systems, we are looking for partners.
Automation beyond the books — mailboxes, invoices, data transfers, reports: le-space.de/automation.
Still early — keep storing your statements and receipts somewhere else as well. Which is exactly why we accompany the start.
